HCN has conducted geotechnical studies and provided oversight of thousands of test borings for nearly 100 airport projects. Most of these projects occurred at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG). Projects have included passenger terminals, operations facilities, and freight handling facilities, deicing facilities, including storage tanks and transport utility lines.
A roller compacted concrete dam was recently constructed at CVG, the Cincinnati/Northern KY International Airport as part of the airport’s stormwater, management program. The dam is part of the new Runway 18R-36L project that also includes several miles of new taxiways and services roads. Therefore, surface runoff conditions will change significantly due to these improvements.
